The One Thing You Wish You Knew When You Were 18
When you’re 18, you think you know everything (well, I did anyway). But there’s always that one thing you wish you could go back and tell your younger self. For some, it’s about love. Others warn against chasing material possessions. The common thread is that these things don’t matter as much as you think they do when you’re young.
What really matters in life is being present, happy and joyful each day. It’s not about what you have or who you’re with, but how you feel in the moment. That’s something that can only be learned with time and experience.
After recording hundreds of podcast episodes over the past six years, this is a question that I ask a lot of my guests. To summarise what I have learnt from some of the brightest and happiest people on earth is quite simple. If we could go back and tell our 18-year-old selves one thing, it would be to focus on the things that truly matter in life. Then we could all be a little bit happier and more present in the moment. Living in the now is a gift; that’s why it’s called the present. Hopefully, you enjoyed these wise words from my brilliant guests on my Energetic Radio Podcast.
